St. Bonaventure
A thirteenth-century Italian Franciscan theologian and Doctor of the Church who served as Minister General of the Franciscans and wrote the official biography of St. Francis of Assisi. His mystical theology, especially The Soul's Journey into God, balances intellect and contemplation. He died while attending the Second Council of Lyon.
