St. Clare of Assisi
A thirteenth-century Italian noblewoman who heard Francis of Assisi preach, fled her family to embrace radical poverty, and founded the Poor Ladies — later the Poor Clares. She and her sisters lived in absolute poverty without any endowment, and she was the first woman to write her own Rule of Life. She is the patron saint of television.
