St. Agnes

A Roman girl martyred around 304 AD at approximately thirteen years old for refusing to deny her faith and her consecrated virginity. One of the earliest and most beloved of all martyrs, her name has been included in the Roman Canon of the Mass since ancient times. She is the patron saint of girls and chastity.

Why it matters for your parish: A young martyr whose courage challenges comfortable faith. Her story resonates across generations and the traditional blessing of lambs on her feast day is a beautiful piece of Catholic tradition.
