Our Lady of Mount Carmel

A feast honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary as patroness of the Carmelite Order. Our Lady of Mount Carmel is associated with the scapular devotion, arising from a vision of St. Simon Stock in 1251. The brown scapular remains one of the most widely worn sacramentals in the Church.

Why it matters for your parish: The Brown Scapular has enormous popular devotion — this feast reaches people with strong Marian commitments. An excellent hook for content about Marian consecration and the Carmelite charism of contemplation.
