St. Francis Xavier

A sixteenth-century Spanish Jesuit co-founder who brought Christianity to India, Japan, and Southeast Asia in eleven years of missionary work, baptizing hundreds of thousands and traveling over fifty thousand miles. He died alone on an island off the coast of China, still hoping to enter the mainland. He is the patron saint of missionaries.

Why it matters for your parish: The greatest missionary in Church history after St. Paul — his eleven years of unprecedented evangelization across Asia make him extraordinary content for any mission-minded parish.
