St. John Paul II
The Polish pope who served from 1978 to 2005, helped bring down Communism in Eastern Europe, made 104 international pastoral visits, canonized more saints than all previous popes combined, and authored the theology of the body. He died in 2005 and was canonized in 2014.
Why it matters for your parish:
The most recognizable pope of the twentieth century and canonized saint — universally known content. His connection to the fall of Communism, theology of the body, and extraordinary personality make him perennial high-engagement content.
