St. John Vianney

A nineteenth-century French parish priest who nearly failed his seminary studies but became the most sought-after confessor in Europe, with pilgrims waiting hours to confess to him in the obscure village of Ars. He reportedly spent eighteen hours a day in the confessional and was visited by over one hundred thousand people in his final year. He is the patron saint of parish priests.

Why it matters for your parish: The patron of parish priests — an indispensable feast for any parish community. His story of ordinary faithfulness producing extraordinary fruit speaks directly to every pastor and every parishioner.
