St. Matthias

The apostle chosen by lot to replace Judas Iscariot, as recounted in Acts 1. Matthias had been a follower of Jesus throughout his entire ministry and was considered a witness to the Resurrection. Almost nothing is known of his later life, though tradition places his mission in Judea and later Ethiopia.

Why it matters for your parish: A feast about how God fills what is broken and restores what is lost — Matthias replacing Judas is a powerful image of redemption and fresh starts. A Feast day, making it a priority content day.
