St. Monica
A fourth-century North African woman who prayed for thirty years for the conversion of her son Augustine, her pagan husband Patricius, and her difficult mother-in-law. Augustine's Confessions reveal the depth of his mother's faith and the tears she shed for him. She is the patron saint of mothers, wives, and those with difficult family members.
