St. Thérèse of Lisieux

A nineteenth-century French Carmelite nun who died of tuberculosis at twenty-four after living her entire religious life in obscurity. Her autobiography The Story of a Soul revealed her "Little Way" — a spirituality of doing small things with great love — and became one of the most widely read spiritual books in history. She is a Doctor of the Church and patron of missions.

Why it matters for your parish: One of the most beloved saints in modern Catholicism — her Little Way speaks directly to ordinary people who feel their lives are too small to matter. A Doctor of the Church despite dying at 24 with no great external achievements.
