St. Turibius of Mogrovejo
A sixteenth-century Spanish lawyer appointed Archbishop of Lima, Peru who became one of the greatest missionaries in the history of the Americas. He traveled thousands of miles on horseback, confirmed St. Rose of Lima and St. Martin de Porres, convened multiple church councils, and championed the rights of indigenous peoples against colonial abuse.
