Sts. Joachim and Anne
The parents of the Virgin Mary and grandparents of Jesus, though their names appear nowhere in Scripture — they come from the second-century Protoevangelium of James. Devotion to Mary's parents has been universal in the Church since antiquity, honoring the couple whose faith produced the one who said yes to God. They are the patrons of grandparents and parents.
