Sts. Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael

A Feast honoring the three archangels named in Scripture: Michael, the warrior who leads heaven's armies; Gabriel, the messenger who announced the Incarnation to Mary; and Raphael, the healer and companion of Tobit. In 1970 the previously separate feasts were combined into one celebration of the angelic princes.

Why it matters for your parish: A Feast celebrating three named angels — Michael's patronage of the Church and soldiers, Gabriel's role in the Annunciation, and Raphael's companionship in Tobit give rich, varied content. High popular devotion to St. Michael especially.
