November 1
All Saints
A Solemnity honoring all the saints in heaven — named and unnamed, canonized and unknown — celebrating the great cloud of witnesses who surround the Church on earth. The feast has been celebrated on November 1 since Pope Gregory IV fixed the date in 835 AD. In the United States it is a Holy Day of Obligation.
Why it matters for your parish:
A Solemnity and Holy Day of Obligation — one of the highest and most important feast days of the year. Universally celebrated across all parishes.
