Our Lady of Guadalupe
On December 9, 1531, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to the indigenous peasant Juan Diego on the hill of Tepeyac outside Mexico City, leaving a miraculous image on his tilma. The image precipitated the conversion of nine million indigenous Mexicans within ten years — the largest mass conversion in history. Our Lady of Guadalupe is the Patroness of the Americas.
Why it matters for your parish:
The Patroness of the Americas with the largest and most rapid mass conversion in history on her credentials — extraordinary content for any parish with Latino heritage, which is an enormous portion of American Catholicism.
